Diseases of the lower extremities and veins have been known to mankind since their inception. Treatment of varicose veins on the legs is suitable for both women and men. The disease is an enlargement of the superficial veins in the lower extremities. It is accompanied by impaired blood flow and valve failure.
There are 4 forms of varicose veins. According to the clinical classification, trouble does not always plague people. In the initial stages, the symptoms are not noticeable or the signs are extremely insignificant. Some of the patients have enough annual visits to the sanatorium, others will need treatment in a specialized medical center.
Conservative treatment
The treatment of varicose veins takes place under the supervision of a doctor in a specialized center. In selected severe cases, surgical intervention cannot be avoided, but conservative methods are used with the operation. Only a surgeon can get rid of advanced stages, but it is quite possible to slow down vascular disease, improve well-being with conservative methods.
Here are some examples of varicose vein treatment. There are two conservative methods:
Compression method
Previously, it was necessary to wrap the lower extremities with special bandages made of dog hair. Simple options are now created:
- Compression jersey;
- Elastic bandages;
- Elastic bandage.
The jersey is often used in medical centers, it can be replaced with bandages - they are cheaper, sometimes better adapted for the specific treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities. The patient procures these items for treatment himself, and then uses them at home for preventive purposes or on the recommendation of a doctor. Positive consequences:
- Reduction of vein diameter, reflux, ballast blood volume, capillary filtration;
- Increased blood flow rate, venous pump efficiency, resorption, lymphatic drainage;
- Elimination of reflux in some cases.
There are many details to consider when choosing a compression product. If we talk about bandages, for diseases of the lower extremities, medium and short stretch bandages are used. It is allowed to use a mixture of bandages, to create an elastic bandage. As for knitwear (socks, knee socks, tights), underwear should be bought based on personal parameters.
Drug method
There are many medications that aim to effectively treat varicose veins. Self-medication is not recommended. It is better to use the doctor's recommendations so as not to worsen the condition of the lower limbs.
Of great interest in treatment is the drug ASD for varicose veins. It is sold in two forms:
- fraction 2 - external and internal use. The liquid has a color ranging from yellowish to dark red and is characterized by a sharp odor.
- fraction 3 - for external use. The liquid has a greasy structure, the color varies from dark brown to black.
Fractions differ by dissolution method. ASD 2 is soluble in water, ASD 3 is assimilated exclusively in oils and alcohols. The second fraction is added to water, mixed and taken orally according to the instructions (15 drops per 100 ml of water / tea, 2 times a day 30 minutes before meals). The use will strengthen the immunity of the vascular walls.
A well-known remedy is troxerutin-based ointment for varicose veins. The application is intuitive, sometimes a combination of gel with capsules of the same name is needed. If there is no improvement, it is worth contacting the nearest clinic or specialized center. Grease is easy to apply:
- The lower limbs are thoroughly washed with laundry soap. It is allowed to add a few drops of iodine or hydrogen peroxide to the water.
- After washing the feet are dried with a towel.
- The gel is squeezed from the tube to the palm, transferred to the surface of problem areas with varicose veins, diseased veins.
- The ointment is rubbed in lightly until it is completely absorbed by the skin.
- It is possible to wrap the legs with elastic bandages or wear compression products from above.
Varicose veins are impossible to cure with fat. But using the means, it is noticed:
- competent treatment of varicose veins;
- elimination of signs of venous insufficiency;
- improving the quality of life;
- preservation of working ability;
- recurrence prevention.
Varicose veins of the lower extremities will not be cured by medication, you should not rely only on medication. However, the use of funds is important for the prevention of weak veins, in order to speed up the healing process. Medications can increase tone, microcirculation, and suppress inflammation. The doctor prescribes medications that the vast majority of patients tolerate well.
Methods of operation
It is important that patients know how to get rid of varicose veins of the lower extremities one hundred percent. Only surgery will help. The doctor always finds out in advance the specific causes of varicose veins in the patient. The doctor will try to stop the process, slow it down, prevent it from getting worse. Sometimes the reasons are hereditary, the genetic side of weak blood vessels is evident.
Referral to a clinic is not always a cure. We will have to work hard in the future to avoid relapses in order to start a healthy lifestyle, which anyone can do. If there are good reasons for surgical intervention in the medical center, the patient will have one of the possible procedures:
- Phlebectomy. It takes 1. 5 hours. It consists of removing diseased veins. It may be necessary to stay in a sanatorium during the recovery period. There may be a risk of small scars, although the operation is atraumatic.
- Sclerotherapy. It is important to walk an hour after surgery. The procedure is to puncture a vein to introduce a "sticky" drug inside. Ultrasound control is required. The method in specialized centers is very well known in the treatment of blood vessels.
- Laser coagulation. It is considered to be the latest method for removing varicose veins on the legs. After the puncture, special anesthesia is performed, followed by endovascular obliteration. Many requirements are prescribed in the postoperative period. Immediately after coagulation, the doctor puts on a compression bandage that is worn continuously for 5 days.
- Radiofrequency coagulation. The method is similar to the previous one. Local anesthesia is performed, hospitalization is not necessary, and incisions are not made. The doctor works under the control of ultrasound.
It is advisable to listen to a surgeon. Proper postoperative behavior will allow you faster rehabilitation, here there is a need for conservative healing of the veins of the lower extremities.
Traditional medicine and exercise therapy
Many patients look for ways to treat varicose veins outside of medical centers and surgeons, fearing scars and payment checks. Often with a similar diagnosis, many procedures are contraindicated: from Charcot's shower to massage. Patients are looking for alternative medicine methods to fight varicose veins.
